Tailoring guide
Product Manager resume keywords and example
Product manager job descriptions lean on a consistent vocabulary: strategy, roadmap, prioritization, experimentation and stakeholder work, usually paired with a named tool or metric. Below are the keywords that repeat across postings, a sample summary, skills grouped the way recruiters scan for them, and example bullets from entry level to senior.

Product Manager keywords that repeat in job postings
- Product Strategy
- Roadmap
- OKRs
- Agile / Scrum

Only include the ones that are true for you. A keyword you can't back up in an interview costs more than it gains.

Example resume bullets by seniority
Illustrative examples: the companies, numbers and outcomes are made up to show the structure (action, scope, tool, result). Use your own real figures.
Entry level
- Wrote PRDs and user stories for 3 onboarding features with design in Figma and engineering in Jira; the redesigned setup flow raised week-one activation from 31% to 38%.
- Ran 12 user interviews and turned the findings into a prioritized backlog that became the input for the next quarter's roadmap.
Mid level
- Owned the roadmap for a B2B reporting product, using RICE scoring and SQL analysis of usage data to cut the backlog by 40% and focus on the 3 features tied to expansion revenue.
- Designed and shipped 8 A/B tests on the pricing page with marketing, lifting trial-to-paid conversion by 12% over two quarters.
Senior
- Led product strategy for a 4-team platform group (30 engineers), setting quarterly OKRs and a 12-month roadmap that supported a move upmarket to enterprise customers.
- Directed the go-to-market launch of a new analytics tier with sales, marketing and support, reaching $1.2M in new ARR within two quarters.
Gaps candidates miss most
- Naming actual tools (Jira, Amplitude, Figma) instead of "collaboration software"
- SQL or self-serve analytics fluency, increasingly expected, often missing
- Framework + metric + tool combinations, not just "Agile" on its own
Common product manager resume mistakes
- Listing responsibilities ("managed the roadmap") instead of the decisions you made and what changed.
- Using "Agile" or "data-driven" with no framework, tool or metric attached.
- Hiding the product context: say what the product was, who used it and roughly at what scale.
- Claiming sole credit for team results. "Led" with a clear scope reads as more credible.
- Sending one generic résumé to every PM posting, even when one role is growth-focused and another is platform-focused.
